Partnering up to provide the first Indigenous cloud, James Cook University invests with Ethan Indigenous over $20 million back into the community. Ethan Indigenous will leverage significant experience and resources as a leading ICT supplier, providing world class tech at a concessional price to the Townsville region. The joint venture enables innovation in local business, tapping into joint cloud.
Local students can also benefit from Ethan Indigenous' cadet program, which creates jobs for Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders wanting to gain entry into the IT industry with no experience or skill required.
Programs Director Troy Thorne says “Townsville is fast becoming a hub for research and technology innovation, supporting not just Queensland, but Australia. It’s critical to connect the economic investment with regional social outcomes, developing a platform for the Indigenous”.
