In an Australian first, Ethan Indigenous creates a program for cadets to gain professional experience in the IT industry with no work experience required. The cadet program provides youths with face-to-face, hands-on work experience in a professional IT environment, where they’re mentored and developed.
Ethan Indigenous’ cadet program sees Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders work directly with clients wanting to donate to the, Laptops for Indigenous Youth program.
Programs Director Troy Thorne says “Before our cadet program was created 0% of IT professionals were Indigenous or, of Torres Strait Island descent—this has a direct and immediate impact on those stats, and the community as a whole”.
